Girls Assault Adult Shopper at Culver City Shopping Center

Police suspect a 9- and 16-year-old knocked a woman to the ground in the parking lot.

A woman who had gone shopping at the Westfield Culver City shopping center was assaulted today by two girls thought to be 9 and about 16 years old, according to Culver City police.

As the woman was walking back to her car, she was struck and knocked to the ground by the two girls, who took her merchandise and fled on foot just before 4 p.m., said Lt. Allen Azran of the Culver City Police Department.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment, although her injuries were
not believed to be life threatening, Azran said. No weapon was used.
