UPDATE: Victim Identified in Fatal PCH Crash

A blown tire is reportedly the cause of the accident.

UPDATE 9:55 p.m.

A blown tire apparently caused a head-on crash that killed one person and forced the temporary closure of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, according to reports.

Sheriff's Sgt. Anthony Arnold said the dead person was a juvenile who had been a passenger in an eastbound car that apparently crossed into westbound lanes. A head-on or broadside collision resulted, with one spinning car then hitting a third vehicle.

The victim was identified by the coroner's office as 15-year-old Roman Jimenez of Los Angeles.

ABC7 reported that a blown tire apparently caused the first driver to lose control and hit a westbound car head-on.

The three-vehicle crash was reported at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 on Pacific Coast Highway at Rambla Vista in Malibu, according to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.
