Culver City Police Blotter: Workplace Money Theft

A look at the crimes reported to the Culver City Police Department last week.

Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between May 7 and May 13 as reported to the Culver City Police Department:

Forgery:


On May 7, 2013 at 9:30 am, a victim called the police department to report he was a victim of a forgery. The victim said he received a call from his bank asking if he had made a recent purchase at a Home Depot in Perris, California.  The victim said no and the bank told him that an unknown suspect had used his credit card information and made a purchase with his account information.

Identity Theft:

On May 7, 2013 at 4:05 pm, a victim called the police department to report that unknown suspect(s) had access her business account information and used that information to make fraudulent purchases.

Auto Burglary:

On May 11, 2013 at 8:00 am, a victim called the police department to report his 1988 Nissan had been burglarized. He said he parked and locked his car on May 9, 2013 near the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Hollow Corner Road at 8:00 pm. When he returned on May 11, 2013 at 8:00 am, he discovered the rear passenger window had been shattered and his property missing.

Vandalism:

On May 11, 2013 at 10:30 am, a victim called the police department to report his 2009 Audi had been vandalized. The victim said he parked and locked his vehicle in the 5900 block of Tellefson Road on May 10, 2013 at 4:00 pm. When he returned the next day at 10:30 am, he discovered the driver’s side window had been shattered.

Burglary:

On May 13, 2013 at 11:00 am, a victim called the police department to report that she was missing money from her office. The victim said that a co-worker left some money in her desk on May 4, 2013. When she went to retrieve the money it was missing. The business is in the 9800
block of Washington Boulevard.
