Culver City Police Blotter: Robbery at Gunpoint

A victim reported his cell phone was snatched in the 11100 block of Venice Boulevard after a suspect brandished a gun.

Here’s a recap of crimes that occurred between July 23 and July 29 as reported to the Culver City Police Department.

Theft from Vehicle

On July 23 at 6:15 p.m. a victim called the police department to report unknown suspect(s) stole property from his trunk. The victim said he parked his truck in the 4000 block of Bledsoe Ave. on July 22 at 7:30 p.m. When he returned the next morning he discovered his property missing from his trunk.

Car Burglary

On July 24 at 5:30 p.m. a victim called the police department to report her 2003 Toyota had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 9800 block of Jefferson Blvd. at 4:50 p.m. When she returned at 5:20 p.m. she discovered her front passenger window had been shattered and her property missing.

Street Robbery

On July 24 at 6:55 p.m. officers responded to the area of 11100 block of Venice Blvd. regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met the victim who told them he was on his cell phone walking eastbound on Venice Boulevard when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect then brandished a handgun and grabbed his cell phone. The suspect then fled the area. The suspect was described as a male Black, 20 years of age, skinny build, wearing a dark jacket and dark beanie.

Commercial Burglary

On July 25 at 10:25 a.m. officers responded to the 8500 block of National Blvd. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them he received a call from the manager of the business saying his lock was missing from his unit and the door was open. The victim said his son locked and secured the location on July 22. On July 24 he received the phone call from the management regarding his lock. He then checked the location and discovered his property was missing.

Stolen Vehicle

On July 29 at 1:20 a.m. officers responded to the 6000 block of Canterbury Dr. regarding a stolen car investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them she parked and locked her 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe at 6 p.m. in the 6000 block of Canterbury Dr. on July 28. At 1:15 a.m. her friend noticed her vehicle missing and they called the police.
