Culver City Police Blotter: Burglary, Vandalism and Street Robbery

Two victims reported being threatened with a gun before being robbed, shortly after 9 p.m. in the area of Washington Boulevard and Fay Avenue.

Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between July 16 and July 22, as reported to the Culver City Police Department.

Car Burglary

On July 17 at 2:30 p.m. a victim called the police department to report her 2013 Ford had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 6100 block of Jefferson Blvd. at 1:30 p.m.  When she returned at 2:30 p.m. she discovered her rear driver side window had been smashed out and her property missing.

Residential Burglary

On July 18 at 1:45 p.m. officers responded to the 11300 block of Stevens Ave. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who said she locked and secured her residence at 10:45 a.m. When she returned at 1:45 p.m she discovered her front door was unlocked. She entered the location and discovered her property missing.

Vandalism

On July 19 at 9:16 a.m. a victim called the police department to report his 2000 Jeep had been vandalized. The victim said he parked and locked his car in the 4000 block of Elenda St. on July 18 at 9:40 a.m. When he returned the next day at 6:15 a.m. he discovered his driver’s side mirror had been damaged.

Stolen Vehicle

On July 20 at 9:30 a.m. a victim called the police department to report his 2004 Toyota had been stolen. The victim said his son parked and locked his truck on July 19 at 9 p.m. When he returned the next day he discovered his truck was missing.

Street Robbery

On July 20 at 9:15 p.m. officers responded to the area of Washington Boulevard and Fay Avenue regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who said he and his friend were walking southbound on Cattaraugus Avenue approaching Washington Boulevard when they noticed two subjects following them. The subjects caught up to them and told them to empty their pockets.  Then suspect #1 threatened to shoot them if they did not comply. Fearing for their safety, they gave suspect #1 their property. The suspects then fled the area.  The suspects were described as 2 male Blacks, 18-19 years of age, 6’0, both wearing dark clothing.
