Culver City Officer Involved Shooting

The incident took place shortly after 9 a.m. this morning in the 3800 block of Sawtelle Blvd.

A Culver City Police officer was involved in a shooting at 9:16 a.m. in the 3800 block of Sawtelle Blvd.

Culver City Police Chief Don Pederson issued a statement saying  the incident occurred while "officers were conducting a high-risk traffic stop on a vehicle wanted in conjunction with a felony."

The suspect was not injured and the man was taken into custody. No further details were forthcoming on the the suspect.

As with all incidents where an officer discharges a weapon a thorough investigation has been launched. Culver City Police detectives are currently on scene working on the investigation.
