Authorities Friday are investigating the cause of a stubborn fire that destroyed a multi-million-dollar mansion and left a firefighter slightly injured in Beverly Hills despite a response from five fire departments, including the Culver City Fire Department.
The fire at 1051 Wallace Ridge, north of Sunset Boulevard, was reported at 9:01 p.m. and knocked down at 10:56 p.m., according to a Beverly Hills Fire Department dispatcher.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury, the dispatcher said, adding that crews from the Los Angeles City, Culver City, Santa Monica and Los Angeles County fire departments assisted the Beverly Hills Fire Department in battling the blaze.
Broadcast video showed the mansion fully engulfed in flames. The 4,543- square-foot home had four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, and its value was estimated at nearly $4.2 million, according to the real estate web site Zillow.com.
