Crime Blotter: Burglaries and a Stolen Car

Discover this week's lineup of local crime, as told to Patch by the Culver City Police Department.

Commercial Burglary:

On March 28 at 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a burglary call from the 12300 block of Washington Place. The officers were told that the affected storage shed was locked and secured on March 26 at 10 a.m. But when the man returned on March 28 at 6:45 a.m., he discovered the shed’s door was opened. He checked the interior of the location and discovered property was missing. 

Stolen Vehicle:

On March 29 at 8:30 a.m.,  a man called the station to report his 2000 BMW was stolen. The man said he parked and locked his vehicle at 6 p.m. in the 11600 block of McDonald Street. When he returned the next morning, his vehicle was missing.

Car Burglary:

On March 30, officers responded at 9:45 a.m. to the 3800 block of Tilden Avenue, where a man reported that his car had been burglarized. The man said he parked and locked his 1996 Volvo on March 29 at 8 p.m. When he returned at 9:30 a.m. the next day, he discovered his vehicle had been broken into.

Residential Burglary:

On March 30 at 8:10 p.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Albright regarding a home burglary. The victims said they had locked and secured their residence except for a kitchen window. They returned home at 6 p.m. and noticed one of the front door locks was unlocked. They entered the location and discovered their property was missing.

Car Burglary:

On April 1 at 7 p.m., a man came to the station to report his 2001 Audi had been broken into. He said he parked and locked his vehicle at 9 a.m. in the 6000 block of Washington Boulevard. When he returned at 12:30 p.m., he discovered his property missing. The man said he had left his windows open for air.
