Police Blotter: Burglaries, a Stolen Car and Some Vandalism

Our crime roundup includes a scratched car and property taken from an office.

The following are the crimes reported in Culver City in the last week. All information is provided by the Culver City Police Department.

Commercial Burglary:

Officers responded July 5 to a call that a local business had been burglarized. The reporting person said that she had locked and secured her office on the 4400 block of Elenda Street before leaving June 30, and discovered property missing upon her return.

Car Burglary:

On July 6, a man called the police department to report that his car had been burglarized. The man said he parked and locked his car in the 8500 block of Higuera Avenue on July 5 at 7 p.m. He returned the next morning at 8:45 a.m. and found his driver side door open and his property missing.

Residential Burglary:

A man called the police department July 6 to report that his home had been burglarized. The man told the officers he secured his residence June 26 for a business trip. He returned June 29 and discovered that someone had removed his personal property.

Stolen Car:

Officers responded to the 6000 block of Hannum Avenue on July 7 to meet with a woman who had reported her car stolen. The woman said that she had parked and locked her 2000 Honda at 7:45 p.m. and when she returned at 8:35 p.m., her car was missing.

Car Burglary:

On July 9, a man called the police department to report that his car had been burglarized. The man said he parked and locked his 2004 Volkswagen in the 11100 block of Washington Boulevard on July 8 at 10 p.m. He returned to his car at 12:45 a.m., and discovered that his rear driver side window had been shattered and his property missing.

Vandalism:

Officers responded July 9 to the 8300 block of Summertime Lane regarding a vandalism call. A man told the officers that his car had been parked in his assigned parking space. He returned to his car and found that someone had scratched the paint on his car.
