I'm a parent of a student at . Every morning when I drop off my daughter on Coolidge Avenue I can hear the traffic from the , which is less than 100 feet away. I have asked a number of parents if they know whether any studies have ever been done on the air quality in the classrooms and on the playground of . No one knows. I would like to ask those who have been involved with the school for longer than the current crop of parents, whether anyone is aware of any studies that have been done to assess the air quality for the students.
Perhaps the students are blessed with an angelic wind that blows the air pollution away—or, perhaps they are being harmed while we have entrusted their care to our school district.
As a parent, I would like to know: Does anyone have the answers? If not, are any of the current school board members or candidates willing to commit to having a study done to assess this question?
