Mommy, What's a Workout?

When my kid asked me, I had to remind myself what it was.

I have a confession to make: I’m out of shape. There, I said it. I’m one of those mommies who put on 35—okay, maybe 40—pounds while pregnant and lost about 20 of it. Hubby and I joined Bally’s (located at Overland and Venice) a while ago, but like a lot of people, have not been very often. Today that changes. Wish me luck.

My new physical fitness routine got me thinking about physical activity classes for my kid as well. Last spring, when she was just about a year old, we enrolled her in a swim class at the . After three sessions of clinging to the hubby and me out of sheer terror, she loved it. However, Unfortunately, when we tried to enroll her in the summer session, it was full.

My next activity attempt was a dance class in December when she was 18 months, but since it was not rough and tumble enough for her, she didn’t take to it. Since then, we’ve been taking her for many walks—really runs—around the neighborhood, but I think it’s time again for a class.

This time, I’m thinking tumbling might be the right fit. I’m currently looking into the Dave Rabb Children's Fitness Center’s Kiddy Fit classes. I'm crossing my fingers, hoping that there will be room.

Moms: Do you have any great ideas on Culver City classes that kids love?

Maybe more to the point, where does the methane (way more powerful than CO2 as a greenhouse gas)Read More release go from the fracking process, where do the "secret"and other cancer causing chemicals go, and who pays for clean-up costs, increased healthcare costs of residents nearby, possible increased earthquake damage, etc. and where does this oil go (we can't use it--too dirty--so probably China)?

As I understand it, fracking wells "dry up" fairly quickly, which is why pressure to keepRead More drilling so urgent. Where do the jobs go after a year or so? Just a thought....
