Farragut Elementary Supports CCEF All for 1 Campaign

“Funds from the All for 1 campaign afforded our school the opportunity to obtain equipment and instruments to enrich the educational experience at Farragut Elementary School.”

I want to express the appreciation of the Farragut Staff and parent community for the generous support given to our school by the Culver City Education Foundation.  Funds from the All for 1 campaign afforded our school the opportunity to obtain equipment and instruments to enrich the educational experience at Farragut Elementary School.

Chris Collins

Interim Principal

Farragut Elementary School

Below are letters of appreciation from two Farragut teachers:

Visual instruction is key to learning. So just imagine the power of sharing a math strategy with manipulatives, viewing pages of a book, illustrating a diagram or presenting a science investigation so all students can see it clearly. This is now accomplished with ease using our document camera.  This device instantly projects the image of any object placed under the lens. It can also take a digital photograph, which can then be transmitted to a computer.

Funded by a grant sponsored by CCEF, the document camera is a tool that is now an integral part of daily instruction from language arts and math to art and science.

Thanks to the Education Foundation this technology has provided the power to facilitate a higher level of learning for every child.

Third graders here at Farragut learn to play the recorder. Students learn basic notes and music notation throughout the year. They also give concerts in front of an audience. This music program is offered to all third graders and is their opportunity to try music lessons to see if it is something they wish to continue. The Culver City Education Foundation made this program possible this year using some of their All For 1 funds to purchase recorders for all third grade students.  Please support music in our schools by supporting the Culver City Education Foundation.

3rd Grade Teacher

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

Maybe more to the point, where does the methane (way more powerful than CO2 as a greenhouse gas)Read More release go from the fracking process, where do the "secret"and other cancer causing chemicals go, and who pays for clean-up costs, increased healthcare costs of residents nearby, possible increased earthquake damage, etc. and where does this oil go (we can't use it--too dirty--so probably China)?

As I understand it, fracking wells "dry up" fairly quickly, which is why pressure to keepRead More drilling so urgent. Where do the jobs go after a year or so? Just a thought....
