Culver Park students would prefer a pool

I just finished talking about the Natatorium to a group of 15 Culver Park students off-campus.

I asked them point blank, "Which would you rather have, a refurbished Natatorium swimming pool or a fancy new classroom?"

They responded unanimously that they would prefer a swimming pool!  When I told them that the School District wanted to spend over $10 million to demolish the pool and build a facility for them whereas fixing the pool would only cost $3 million they were incredulous.

Our Culver Park students can still have upgraded facilities without spending $10 million to demolish our "School Pool."  It appears they have more common sense than the naysayers who are against fixing our school pool.

I'll wager dollars to donuts that the overwhelming majority of our 80 Culver Park students would prefer fixing the Culver City School Natatorium swimming pool over fancy new classrooms in a reconstituted Natatorium building. Think what we could do with the $7 million in savings. It's only common sense.
