Groundbreaking for Tilden Terrace
The new development will include affordable housing and retail.
A crowd of about 50 people, including city officials, showed up on Monday to break ground on Tilden Terrace.
Culver City's Tilden Terrace is the "first affordable housing project for families in
50 years," said Culver City Mayor Micheál O’Leary.
The development consists of a three-story building with 10,700 square feet of ground floor commercial space. There will be a total of 33 residential units.

Tilden Terrace is the product of work done by the former Redevelopment Agency as well as the City of Culver City to redevelop the area with a high quality development that includes commercial revitalization and affordable housing.
Culver City Housing Administrator Tevis Barnes said one waiting list has 10,023 people on it; a second list that includes only the city’s lowest income residents has 763.

A lottery will determine who will live in Tilden Terrace.
The mixed-use development will be built at 11042-11056 West Washington Blvd.
