Culver City Teen Nails Half-Court Shot, Wins $50K

It's a shot even an NBA player would envy.

Imagine a packed arena -- UCLA's Pauley Pavilion can hold nearly 14,000 people -- TV cameras in your face and a chance to win $50,000. All you have to do is hit a half-court shot.

Ricardo Jacobo, Jr. doesn't have to imagine it. Because he lived it.

The 15-year-old Culver City native was at Westfield Culver City mall last week, when his dad -- that would be Ricardo Jacobo Sr. -- convinced him to enter a contest to be the one to take that golden shot at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports Awards Thursday, CBS Los Angeles reports.

The stars aligned, and Jacobo was selected. He received five chances to make the half-court shot for a $50,000 payday.

He only needed three. Check out the video above.
