ABOUT
THE ARTISTS:

David
MacDowell’s
delicious skewering of pop culture, politics and
social themes have been called “Disneyland on acid”. Working primarily in acrylics
on canvas, MacDowell’s dark commentary on American media worship is expressed across
Technicolor landscapes exploding with celebrities, cartoons and politicians.

Casey
Weldon
was born in southern California, where he graduated
from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and is currently based in the
Pacific Northwest.  Weldon rose to
prominence with the “Four-Eyed Cats” series of optical paintings. In Weldon’s
most recent work, he incorporates humor and iconography from the past and
present with a muted palate to awaken feelings of nostalgia and melancholy within
the viewer.

Macsorro
takes inspiration from Jan Van Eyck, Hieronymus
Bosch, and Mark Ryden to paint imaginative social commentary mash-ups riddled
with personal and symbolic imagery. His paintings can be ornate and emanate
Renaissance portraiture with characters that are enigmatic and creepy yet
highly charming.

Xiau-Fong
Wee
finds beauty in the bizarre and the environment. Elements
of Animalia are richly conveyed through the use of oil, acrylic, and charcoal
to create alternate dimensions and new discoveries for the viewer.

IN
THE PROJECT ROOM:

Gabe
Larson
is a southern California based artist who employs
classic oil painting techniques to depict contemporary scenes through
portraiture.  Common themes in Larson’s
work range from Punk to Graffiti culture, executed with amazing brushwork and
technique, mixed with a no holds barred approach.
