Video: Culver City Gangnam Style Hanukkah Lights to Appear on NBC 4

Who says you can’t get into the holiday spirit if you’re Jewish? Once again, the Herman family in Culver City is pulling out all the holiday stops on their house –Hanukkah Gangnam style.

It's the Herman family’s second annual animated lights event and this year, Brad Herman says, “I am at 7000+ lights and 42 animation channels, a 20' Menorah, a spinning dreidel, and an 11' bear. From Gangnam Style to Candlelight this year’s show is an eclectic trip through our music tastes.”

Herman told Patch that NBC 4 will feature the family's light display as part of the 11 p.m. news on Dec. 4 during "Fritz's Lights" segment. It's the first time they've ever highlighted a Jewish home, Herman said.

Want to see the Herman family’s unique display? Simply drive on by and enjoy the holiday season with them at Overland Avenue at Northgate Street in Culver City. Says Herman, “Look for the house you can see from space.”

This is a drive by or park and watch type of event. There is plenty of parking around the corner on Galvin Street or viewers can walk over and watch the show from the sidewalk. However, please don’t ring the doorbell. The Herman’s have a new baby who may be sleeping. They also recommend staying off the lawn and keeping your kids off the lawn and there are nearly 100 power cords on the lawn to help light up the house.

The show will run through New Years. Hours are 4 – 5 p.m. for candle lighting during the eight days of Hanukkah (beginning Dec. 9), and 5 – 10 p.m. will be the main show on week days, with the main show being extended to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday.

Says Herman, “You don't have to be Jewish to enjoy our take on holiday lights, you just have to enjoy music and blinking lights… and have a great holiday season from Brad, Karin, Elijah, Aliyah and Jonah Herman.”
