Police Blotter: Street Robbery, Residential Burglary and Vandalism

A local resident managed to stop someone from running off with his bicycle seat at Centinela Avenue.

Here's a recap of crimes that occurred between April 24 and April 30, as reported to the Culver City Police Department.

Car Burglary

On April 24 at 5:40 p.m. officers responded to the 4100 block of Higuera Ave. regarding a car burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them he parked and locked his 2011 Subaru on April 23 at 9:45 p.m. He returned the next day at 8 a.m. and discovered his property missing from his vehicle.

Residential Burglary

On April 26 at 1:25 p.m. officers responded to the 4100 block of LaSalle Ave. regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them she locked and secured her residence when she left at 10 a.m. When she returned at 1:20 p.m. she discovered her home was ransacked and her property missing.

Street Robbery

On April 28 at 5:10 p.m. officers responded to the 4900 block of Centinela Ave. regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them he had ridden his bicycle to Jefferson Blvd. and Hetzler Rd. to exercise. He secured his bike and went to exercise and when he returned he noticed a group of people had gathered around his bicycle. As he got closer he saw one subject had his seat and rack and was fleeing the location. The victim followed the suspect and was able to catch him and confront him about his property. The suspect pushed him to the ground and fled the location.

Stolen Car

On April 30 at 8:20 a.m. officers responded to the 6200 block of Bristol Pkwy regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them he parked and locked his 2000 Honda on April 29 at 6 p.m. and when he returned the next morning at 8:a.m. his car was missing.

Vandalism

On April 30, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. a victim came to the police department to report that a construction site located in the 9800 block of Washington Blvd. had been vandalized. The victim said his crew locked and secured the location on April 28 at 5 p.m. and when he returned the following morning at 8 a.m. he discovered that unknown suspect(s) had damaged 200 feet of new walls at the location.
