MLK Day Closures Scheduled for Monday

City Hall, the public library, CCUSD schools, USPS offices and banks observe the federal holiday.

City Hall offices and the Culver City Public Library will be closed today in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Culver City Unified School District students also get the day off. 

Needs stamps? That will have to wait until Tuesday, as the United States Postal Service offices are closed for the day, along with banks and credit unions.

Often referred to as MLK Day, the federal holiday is observed on the third Monday in January each year. It is scheduled to take place around the time of King's birthday, January 15.

President Ronald Reagan signed MLK Day into law in 1983. It was first observed on Jan. 20, 1986.

If you have the day off, stop by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to donate blood. The hospital is holding a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday:
