Metro Expo Right of Way Potholing Activities in Culver City

Roadwork will take place within the Expo ROW from National and Palms boulevards to Centinela Boulevard starting this week and will continue through July 6.

Metro says there will be noise and dust but traffic will not be impacted as additional potholing activities continue through July 6 at the Expo Right of Way in and around Culver City.

Work began on Mon. May, 21 and will continue through Fri. July 6 but will only take place on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Construction will take place from National and Palms boulevards to Centinela Boulevard within the Expo ROW.

According to a Metro press release the potholing activities require using saws or jackhammers to remove a small section of the ground to expose the soil. Heavy machinery will be used, including excavators and backhoes to dig the holes. Once the utility has been located and surveyed, compacting equipment will be used to restore the soil.

On the plus side, Metro promises no traffic will be impacted. However, residents should be aware of the following:

  • Noise levels will be monitored to ensure work performed is within the necessary compliance levels and sound blankets will be installed if required to buffer any noise that may impact the surrounding community.
  • Access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout all construction activities.
  • Please obey all posted parking restriction signs and construction signs; do not enter the construction work zone.
  • Work crews will water down the work area to minimize dust, sweep adjacent streets of debris as needed, and monitor the surrounding air quality.

(Construction schedules are subject to change for various reasons including but not limited to: weather conditions, unforeseen emergencies and other acts of nature.)
