Update: Expo Lines Resume Normal Service

Metro announced shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday all Expo Line trains are now up and running on schedule following technical problems with two stalled trains on Thursday afternoon.

Update 6:10 p.m. Normal Expo Line train service has been resumed, Metro officials say.

Metro is warning commuters to expect service line delays along the Expo Line this afternoon due to pantograph damage on two trains. The pantograph is the framework that holds the current connecting the train to overhead wires.

Metro issued the warning at approximately 2 p.m., noting the work could take up to three hours to fix.

The damaged trains are blocking both tracks (westbound and eastbound) between 23rd St. Station and Park USC Station. Metro has a bus bridge in operation between 23rd St. Station and Expo Vermont Station with at least 30 minutes delays for patrons traveling from or to 7th St Metro Center and Culver City.
