What needs does your chosen organization fill? Most of my time goes to school and athletics. Volunteers fill a big gap in education. We help with reading, classroom organization and fundraising, to name a few.

What is the most personally rewarding part of being a volunteer? I think participation in sports is huge, especially for girls. As a soccer coach, I can help girls develop leadership skills and self-confidence, and it's a lot of fun for me. I am also currently serving as an elementary school Parent Teacher Association President. It is very rewarding to feel that I am an integral part of the school family, and can assist other parents, teachers and kids to make the most of their educational goals.

What is the city's most important issue?  I think the city's most important issue is the education of our children. We need to step in when the state is stepping back.
