Hazardous Winds Set to Hit the Region

As of 6 a.m. Friday, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook in Southwest California.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook throughout Southwestern California, including Los Angeles County.

Throughout today and tonight, north to northeast winds will continue to develop across the area and continue through Saturday morning.

Stay away from the area below the Santa Monica mountain ranges including downtown Los Angeles, Malibu, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and Hollywood where the winds are predicted to be the strongest over the next 24 hours. The strongest winds are expected on Saturday morning and will range from 15 – 25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph. The National Weather Service warns that winds this strong can down tree limbs and displace unsecured objects and can also make driving difficult.If you stay in Culver City over the next 24 hours you should be able to avoid the dangerous winds. winds are expected to be only between 5 and 10 mph in the city, with a predicted high of 66 degrees. Tonight, winds are expected to pick up to around 10-15 mph and temperatures will drop to around 47.

On Saturday the weather should be mostly sunny with a high of around 68 degrees and winds of around 10 mph.
