Eateries Open for Business on the Fourth

Restaurants and bars offering deals and special holiday menu items for weekend revelers.

Residents who are going to the fireworks on Sunday night (and who don't want to cook) have plenty of mouthwatering options to choose from.

Rush Street will hold a backyard barbecue and block party from July 2 to July 5. Brian McKeaney, one of the owners of Rush Street, said that his restaurant is the big place that everyone will want to go to for a good time.

"We want to be the place where everyone can come for lunch or dinner," McKeaney said. "We'll always be out doing something fun. We're kind of the big place to go to for the Fourth of July. And we even have the entire patio deck filled in with sand, so you'll definitely want to be here at the place."

People can check out the special summer menu and try out everything from smoked baby back ribs to grilled salmon sliders. Guests age 21 and older can also take a sip of Rush Street's special Jager Bomb Ice Luge--a smooth drink with jager meister and red bull mixed into an icy concoction. DJs will spin tracks for people to dance to. Visitors can also compete in the beer pong tournament on the patio deck on July 3.

If you love to barbecue, Ford's Filling Station will offer a special Big Daddy's Sunday barbecue. Each $24 meal includes two meats and two sides. Choose from a variety of items, such as beef brisket, Mattinata sausage, Tuscan greens, corn on the cob and baked beans.

Honey's Kettle Fried Chicken will continue to serve food during the holiday. Visitors will receive 10 percent off any order on July 4, as long as they mention that they heard about this offer from Patch.com.

Mezza Mediterranean Grill will stay open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4. It will serve its usual Mediterrancean entrees with delicious food such as gyros, filet mignon kabobs and lamb chops. Salads are also available for anyone who is a vegetarian.

The Cozy Inn will hold a barbecue on July 4 at its bar as a benefit for a friend of the owner. The bar will serve free tri-tip and teriyaki if people buy a $1 raffle ticket. The barbecue starts at 1 p.m. and all the proceeds will go to the benefit.

Taco lovers will have to check out Tito's Tacos, which will stay open until 10 p.m. on July 4. There's nothing more tasty than a Tito's taco with cheese, shredded beef and lettuce for only $2.20.
