Expo Line Temporary Closures and Traffic Detours at Washington and National Boulevards

Traffic will be disrupted this Sat. April 21 in order to work on street improvements near the Culver City Expo Light Rail station.

As part of the Expo Construction Authority’s efforts to prepare for the Expo Line – which will start running from downtown to the La Cienega Station on April 28 – there will be temporary closures and traffic detours this Sat. April 21.

Between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. traffic striping will take place and the following streets will be impacted throughout the day:

  • Washington Boulevard will be closed between Landmark Street and National Boulevard, with traffic impacted in both directions.
  • National Boulevard will be closed between Washington Boulevard and Wesley Street, with traffic impacted in both directions.

The closure on National Boulevard will not overlap the closure on Washington Boulevard.

The following traffic detours will be in place during this time:

  • Southbound National Boulevard traffic will be prohibited between Washington Boulevard and Wesley Street and will be detoured along Washington Boulevard to La Cienega Boulevard, and back to Jefferson Boulevard.
  • Northbound National Boulevard traffic will be prohibited between Wesley Street and Washington Boulevard and will be detoured along La Cienega Boulevard to Washington Boulevard and back to National Boulevard. Local access to Eastham Drive, Hayden Avenue, Schaefer Street, Helms Avenue and Wesley Street will be maintained
  • Eastbound Washington Boulevard traffic will be prohibited between Landmark Street and National Boulevard and will be detoured along Robertson Boulevard, to Venice Boulevard, to National Boulevard, and back to Washington Boulevard.  Local access to Landmark Street will be maintained.
  • Westbound Washington Boulevard traffic will be prohibited between National Boulevard and Landmark Street and will be detoured along National Boulevard to Venice Boulevard, to Robertson Boulevard, and back to Washington Boulevard.

Parking and “No Stopping Anytime” restrictions will be strictly enforced at all times.
