Expo Line Service Derailed Following Crash
The Expo Line to Culver City was disrupted early Friday morning after a wrong-way vehicle struck a utility pole in downtown Los Angeles.
Train service was disrupted this morning along Metro's Expo Line, which links downtown Los Angeles and Culver City, after a wrong-way vehicle struck a utility pole on a one-way street in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The crash happened on Flower Street south of Washington Boulevard just after 11 p.m. Thursday, said Metro spokesman Rick Jager.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the accident, which damaged a pole that provides overhead power to the line's trains between seventh and 23rd streets, Jager said. Metro had been using shuttle buses to move passengers around the affected portion of the line until regularly
scheduled service ended around 2 a.m., he said.

Trains would again operate through the affected area when service resumed at 4:30 a.m., Jager said, but they must slow to about 5 mph in the area of the crash, and commuters were advised to expect delays of 10-15 minutes, Jager said.
The crash did not involve a Metro train, he said.
