An international day of action to ban hydraulic fracturing will be held Saturday.

Culver City - already a hub of anti-fracking activity -  will participate in a "Global Frackdown" on Saturday as part of an international day of action to ban hydraulic fracturing.

"Don’t Frack with Los Angeles and Culver City: Safe Fracking is a Fairy Tale" events are planned in the city, including an update on fracking activity in the Los Angeles Basin and a rally in downtown Culver City.

Residents and activists are expected to attend the events, including members of Food & Water Watch, Citizens Coalition for a Safe Community, Baldwin Hills Oil Watch and Frack Free Culver City.
