Culver City To Honor National Historic Preservation Month

Culver City Historian Julie Lugo Cerra will host a presentation highlighting Culver CIty's distinctive historic structures.

On Mon. May 13, the Culver City City Council will issue a proclamation honoring May as historic preservation. 

Then, at the May 14 Culver City Cultural Affairs Commission meeting, City Historian Julie Lugo Cerra, will host a presentation on Culver City's distinctive historic structures and local efforts in historic preservation. Among the issues up for discussion will be, "Does Historic Preservation Pay?" and "How can we achieve our goals in these difficult economic times?"

Both events are open to the public and both will take place in the Mike Balkman Council Chambers at City Hall, 9770 Culver Boulevard, 90232. The meetings can also be viewed on culvercity.org or local access television.

The Culver City Archives and Resource Center (ARC) is currently featuring an exhibit of the 13 historic sites marked in Culver City.
