Odom’s family have set up a recovery fund to help pay for Odom’s treatment and to provide updates. The latest update on May 9, from Odom’s wife Karen reads:

Day 24. So have I mentioned how much we love the medical staff here! They are unbelievable. These amazing individuals have become family. John's recovery would not be possible without them. Well...everyday I have tried to highlight the positives of the day to share with you but today, there is no way around it. It was a tough day but it ended well. Don't get me wrong, medically John continues to move in the right direction. It wasn't that...it was the little things, pain, bodily functions, broken ribs, moving around, etc. but success again as those things were addressed and we are back on track and looking forward to a better tomorrow! Karen
