Vegan Ice Cream Store: Goodbye Studio City, Hello Culver City

Los Angeles' first vegan ice cream store is closing its doors on Ventura Boulevard but says it will be opening its operations "soon" in Culver City.

Kind Kreme, a vegan ice cream store on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, has shuttered, but the owners say they will be opening a store in Culver City.

Kind Creme was the first all-vegan ice cream parlor to open in Los Angeles in May 2010 and was a specialty gourmet ice cream shop that features hand-crafted raw ice cream, all of which are dairy-free and soy-free.

On their website, they write:

"While we don’t have plans to open another one in this area anytime soon, we do have locations in Pasadena, Echo Park and coming soon to Culver City.

"Going forward, future KindKremes will be contained inside of a restaurant like Sage in Echo Park or our Sage Farm Plant Based Bistro & Beer Garden in Culver City. That way we can continue to bring you the same high quality, high integrity product without raising the price point beyond the bounds of what people are willing and able to pay."

Most flavors are vegan except for several which contains honey. The shop was started by three friends who also took turns scooping out the dishes, and two lived in Studio City.
