Vegan Bistro 'Sage' Opens Culver City Location

The "plant-based bistro" opens its doors in Culver City.

A popular vegan bistro started in Echo Park opened its second location in Culver City last Friday in a star-studded affair.

Sage, billed as a "plant-based bistro," attracted the likes of celebrities Jason Mraz, Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson and Moby at its grand opening in Culver City. The bistro serves up an exclusively vegan menu and focuses on buying all produce from small, traditional local farms.

“As a California business, Sage has access to the freshest produce and we will change the menu before shopping for produce from half way around the world," owner Mollie Engelhart said in a release. "We are proponents of a vegan diet because it is the most environmentally sustainable diet for the world in which we are living. 80% of our customers are non-vegan so every meal they choose at Sage saves resources that would otherwise be wasted.”

In addition to its vegan dishes, Sage also serves up organic craft beers and cocktails.

Sage, located at the Culver City Crossroads at 4114 Sepulveda Boulevard, is now officially open to the public. For hours and menus visit Sage's official website.
