Culver City Business Offers Seniors Some TLC... and a Ride

TLC Senior Services is located at 10736 Jefferson Blvd., #906 in Culver City and started in 2008. Owner Kathy Macaraeg takes the time to answer a few questions about the business. 

Patch: When and how did TLC Senior Ride get started?

Kathy Macaraeg: I started TLC Senior Ride in 2008 when I was looking for a career change. I was at Trader Joe's in Westchester and saw two seniors arguing over a taxi. They had both been waiting for some time and thought it was their cab.

At the time, I was looking at senior services in general, so after that incident, I did some research and realized there were very few transportation options for seniors once they stopped driving. That led me to start TLC Senior Ride, a transportation and errand service for L.A. metro seniors.

Patch: What's your business known for?

Kathy Macaraeg: TLC Senior Ride provides reliable, secure transportation for seniors in the L.A. metro area. We are known for our customer service as we treat every customer like a member of our family.

Patch: What's unique about your business?

Kathy Macaraeg: There are very few transportation options for seniors in Los Angeles. Outside of city services and volunteer services, there are no other private transportation services in Culver City. Additionally, the level of service we provide is unmatched.

Patch: What's the best part the neighborhood you are located in?

Kathy Macaraeg: We are located in the Fox Hills neighborhood, walking distance from Westfield Culver City. We have access to everything the mall has to offer, have great freeway access and are at a great central point for our entire service area.

Patch: If you could give your customers one piece of advice, what would it be?

Kathy Macaraeg: Our customers are seniors who are giving up driving. My advice would be to continue living a full life and not let it stop them from staying active. There are many options for getting around - from family and friends to TLC Senior Ride - that can help them maintain their independence without giving up their social engagements.
