CityTypes: The Restaurateur

Vincent Williams, Honey's Kettle Fried Chicken owner, just wants to offer "good, straight-up American food."

Honey's Kettle Fried Chicken owner Vincent Williams brought 37 years of "making chicken taste good" to Culver City. Nestled between Akasha and Ford's Filling Station, the five-year-old chicken joint has become a local gem for those who don't mind licking their fingers for good food. A former Golden Bird owner, Vincent's first Honey's Kettle is near the 710 freeway in Compton, Calif.

Write-ups in the media like Los Angeles magazine and word-of-mouth have made Honey's Kettle a destination for locals and tourists alike. There's the fried chicken, of course, but the biscuits get a lot of attention, too.
