The dog named Cruiser, survived being locked in a trunk and thrown onto the sidewalk and needs a new home before Monday.

Many Patch readers have been asking about the abused dog that was thrown onto a Culver City sidewalk by his owner on Friday after being locked in the trunk of a car.

The owner, 62-year-old Thomas Naylor, fled the scene before being arrested several hours after the incident, where he was booked and charged with animal cruelty and driving under the influence.

The dog - a six or seven-year-old pitbull called Cruiser was taken to Advanced Critical Care  - City of Angels in Culver City suffering from dehydration and vomiting.

As of Saturday morning Cruiser is doing extremely well (see video). He received IV fluids and last night starting eating. He had no internal injuries, no bruising and no broken bones.
