Man Missing From Culver City's Brotman Hospital Found Dead
Body identified as the man found in the surf at Playa del Rey.

A 79-year-old man reported missing from a Westside hospital June 10 was identified today as the dead man found in the surf at Playa del Rey on Tuesday.
According to the coroner's office, Jose Muniz was reported missing from Brotman Medical Center by family members a week ago today and found dead Tuesday.

No cause of death was given.
Muniz was reported missing to Culver City police, according to the coroner's office, which notified police of the man's name Sunday.

On June 10, a family member contacted Culver City Patch, stating that Muniz was missing. She said he suffered from dementia and was last seen that day at Brotman Medical Center, where he was transported by ambulance but then wandered off.
