Prior to the officers’ arrival, they were advised that the suspected drunk driver had a dog that was severely injured in the trunk of his car.

The officers arrived and located the severely injured pit-bull in the street. The officers placed the pit-bull in the backseat of a patrol unit and rushed it to the Advance Critical Care of Los Angeles Animal Hospital.

The suspected drunk driver fled the location prior to the officers’ arrival.

Lt. Vickrey told Patch that the driver in question may have been involved in a possible hit and run on Thursday but could not confirm details. Police do have a description of the suspect’s car and license plate (pictured).

The pit-bull is in critical but stable condition.

Patch will bring you more details as they become available.
