New Work at the Kirk

Two new plays are opening soon at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, right on the heels of the moving one-man show . The Method Gun features a group of abandoned acting disciples who attempt to present their former mentor's vision of A Streetcar Named Desire, while This presents a witty look at the 40-something lives of a group of women. The ARTWALK is back!

A shakeup at Sony

Sony Pictures Television is bringing in Kim Rozenfeld as its new executive vice president of current programming. The post has been vacant since February 2010, when the former EVP was laid off as part of sweeping company layoffs at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Business Insider reports.

Sony posts loss

Sony Pictures reported a net loss of $3.1 billion for the fiscal year that ended March 31, thanks in part to the box office failure of the flick How Do You Know and a whopping $4.4 billion in tax credits that the company had to defer in light of losses spurred by the massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan in March, the Los Angeles Times reports.
