Frozen Banana Stand From 'Arrested Development' Sets Up in Culver City

Fans of the show Arrested Development will recognize this banana stand.

Fans of the television show Arrested Development were in for a treat Monday as promoters of the show set up a replica of Bluth's Original Frozen Banana Stand in downtown Culver City and handed out free frozen bananas.

The stand, which was made famous in the series, has been on a world tour making stops in London and New York, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The banana stand, made famous in the television series, set up shop in a vacant parking lot across the street from Culver City's Trader Joe's for seven hours Monday. Fans lined up down the block to get a free treat.

Fans reported waiting for more than an hour to get to the front of the line. A man dressed in a banana costume kept the line moving and handed out "Mr. Manager" stickers. He also offered to help visitors take photos of themselves in front of the stand or, sometimes, with him.

The spectacle of the chocolate-covered banana giveaway slowed eastbound traffic on Culver Boulevard as far back as Overland Avenue.

While Arrested Development was canceled in 2006, the show has maintained a cult following and will find new life when new episode begin airing on Netflix on May 26, according to the show's website.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the banana stand is on a world tour and Culver City is one of its many stops that include London and New York City.
