Hip Hop JAM (Not Bang!) is a community festival driven to show youth and families that hip hop can be a positive creative influence for individuals and communities.

The goal of the event is to inspire and encourage youth to use hip hop in a positive manner that will strengthen their communities and inspire others. We want to introduce youth to hip hop artists that will teach their artform (mc, dj, dance, graffiti). The one-day event will culminate in an interactive jam session between youth, hip hop artists, and community members. We will have speed dating type workshops that will focus on respecting others and will present interactive opportunities for youth to learn music, dance and related arts as a substitute to gang banging, with prevention being the ultimate objective.

The workshop will be from 2-4 pm on Sunday, June 24th at Your Neighborhood Studio.

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

Maybe more to the point, where does the methane (way more powerful than CO2 as a greenhouse gas)Read More release go from the fracking process, where do the "secret"and other cancer causing chemicals go, and who pays for clean-up costs, increased healthcare costs of residents nearby, possible increased earthquake damage, etc. and where does this oil go (we can't use it--too dirty--so probably China)?

As I understand it, fracking wells "dry up" fairly quickly, which is why pressure to keepRead More drilling so urgent. Where do the jobs go after a year or so? Just a thought....
