Fall Harvest Fesitval of Dulcimers

ANNUAL DULCIMER FESTIVAL IN CULVER CITY, CA


Enjoy folk music played on the ancient hammered dulcimer and the American fretted dulcimer!

The Southern California Dulcimer Heritage will be hosting its 17th annual Harvest Festival of Dulcimers, Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Culver Palms United Methodist Church; 4464 Sepulveda Blvd.; Culver City, CA, from 9 AM until 8 PM.

An 11:30 AM concert is free and open to the public, in addition to the ticketed twilight concert at 6 PM. Featured performers will be Bing Futch, from Orlando FL, on fretted dulcimer; Jody Marshall from McLean VA, on hammered
dulcimer. They are both nationally known players of dulcimers, and many excellent local players will also be teaching and performing.

For those wanting to learn more, teaching workshops will be held all day long on various aspects of the instruments and music, including classes for guitar, piano, ukulele, tin
whistle and percussion. There will also be food and musical vendors, and musicians young and old will be around the grounds, jamming and singing.
