Annual Music Festival Gets Its Swing On

A classic big band kicks off Culver City's eight-week long free concert series.

Young, old, and everything in between, came out to the 16th Annual Culver City Music Festival Thursday night.

"It's great to hear something people of all ages can enjoy," said Shane McMahon, a Culver City resident who came out to enjoy the music festival for the first time.

The night of music, which was a throwback to the 1930s and 40s,  took place on the City Hall Courtyard and featured The Dean Mora Orchestra and the Lindy Sisters.

"I like how the music and memories remind you of your parents," said Sharon Lovi, Culver City resident.

Thursday night's concert was the first of eight free weekly concerts put on by the Culver City Redevelopment Agency. The concerts are every Thursday night until August 26, from  7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the City Hall courtyard.
