A Night at the Jungle

Cuddly stuffed animals hung silently on the walls at Royal/T Friday night, creating animal awareness in an exhibit called, "The Nonlife at the Zoo."

"The Nonlife Zoo" pop-up gallery was showcased for the first time in the United States at Royal/T Friday night.  Created to raise awareness of animal preservation, the exhibit's opening night featured cocktails, a live DJ, and tapas--vegetarian, of course.

A variety of colorful, cuddly stuffed animals hung emotionless on the walls, with "a silent cry for help," said show creator Jeff Liu, owner of Molla Space.  According Liu, the animals were designed with human-life forms to remind viewers of their coexistence on this planet--and the social responsibility of that relationship.

"They've painted the faces with skeleton faces to say, 'Hey, if we're not careful, in the future, these animals are not going to be around anymore. In turn, humans--also a part of animal life--will also suffer."
