According to the city, the pipe replacement project is part of a larger water system improvement project that seeks to reduce the risk of leaks and also improve water flow for local customers.
Crews will focus on two areas for pipe replacement including:
- Pickford Way from Dobson Way to Virginia Avenue
- Tilden Avenue, from Venice Boulevard to Washington Boulevard
During the project, the city said crews will work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and additional noise may be noticed by surrounding residents.
Residents can also expect restricted access to parking and driveways for limited periods of time as crews complete work. All streets will remain open to traffic and trash collection will not be affected.
The city also said water service may be interrupted but with advance notice to affected residents.
The project, which began on Aug. 22 is expected to be completed sometime this month.
