Roller Derby Girls Whip Opponent in Double Match

Our local team, the Angel City Derby Girls, pulls off two impressive wins Saturday.

The Angel City Derby Girls' Hollywood Scarlets played against Central Coast Roller Derby on Saturday, finishing with an impressive 218 to 54 win. It was a two-for-one evening in a double header—the second bout was the Angel City Derby Girls' Rocket Queens playing and beating the Central Coast Roller Derby 193-50. The Rocket Queens were able to hold on to their undefeated title. Composed of four sub-teams—the Scarlets, Rocket Queens, Subpool and Fresh Meat, these players take skating to a new level, competing with fervor and a little necessary roughness.

It appears that Culver City has been a good luck charm so far for the team, which landed in town just in time for the 2011 season to begin in January.

Enjoy the unique experience of a night at the Roller Derby for the price of $18.  The next bout is on July 2 at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Click here for more information.
