Penguins to Waddle into Local Culver City Mall

Families have a chance to see live penguins during a family-friendly event.

While the weather may be hot, there will be plenty of cool in the Westfield Culver City mall Friday morning as penguins from the Aquarium of the Pacific make a special appearance during a family-friendly event.

The Magellanic penguins will make a special appearance on stage along with an aquarium educator who will teach kids about the penguins and their natural habitats, organizers said.

Following the penguin appearances will be two performances of "Octonauts: To Your Stations," a children’s television series that airs on the Disney Channel.

"Kids will dive deep, learning about underwater worlds, visiting real marine animals and natural habitats, while having the adventure of a lifetime," organizers said in a news release.

The penguin-centered events will begin at 10 a.m. Friday inside the Center Court at Westfield Culver City, 6000 Sepulveda Boulevard.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information and showtimes, visit Westfield Culver City's official website.
