Patch Picks: Culver City Parks

Check out the best parks in town to enjoy the summer weather.

Pack up a picnic basket and the kids and head to one of these grassy knolls to enjoy the warm weather.

1) Culver City Park
The city-titled park offers more than 41 acres of fun and recreational activities for the entire family. It is perfect for summer barbecues as it offers eight-foot tables in two locations and four barbecues. There is also a playground area for children. For the athletes, there are three softball diamonds, two half-court basketball courts, one soccer field and a skate park. There is also a dog park for your four-legged loved ones.

2) Syd Kronenthal Park

With two children’s play areas, two softball diamonds, two half-court basketball courts, and two picnic areas, Syd Kronenthal Park is sure to meet your recreational needs. The park also has a soccer field, a tennis court and plenty of grass to enjoy a summer day.

3) Blair Hills Park

If you want to get away from the crowds yet enjoy the activities of the big parks, this is the park for you. The 1.62-acre park offers a recreational hut with a picnic shelter and tables, one barbecue pit, a playground, a basketball court and a softball diamond. Moonbounces are also allowed with proper permit.

4) Carlson Park

Located in the East Park neighborhood of Culver City, the 2.6-acre park also has four 16-ft tables and four barbecues. During the summer, Carlson Park hosts the Culver City Theater. Also, unlike most other parks in the city, moonbounces are not allowed in this park. However, there is plenty of grass area to indulge in.

5) Tellefson Park

One of the smallest parks in the city, Tellefson Park offers a picnic shelter, a children’s playground and two barbecues. However, it also has plenty of grass area for a quiet and relaxing time at the park. This park offers serenity—which may be harder to find at the larger parks— but with enough recreational activities for all to enjoy.
