The weekend edition of NPR's popular "All Things Considered" radio show recently moved broadcast operations to Culver City, the New York Timesreported.
According to the Times, NPR moved the show from its Washington, D.C. studios to its underutilized studios in Culver City last weekend. The show, which is now anchored by Arun Rath, also received a revamped format and theme music.
"L.A. kind of reflects America a lot more than Washington does," Steve Lickteig, the supervising senior producer told the Los Angeles Times.
NPR also said that moving some operations to the west coast could help in the event of a blackout or major disaster on the east coast.
