Magnitude 2.7 Earthquake Strikes Near Marina del Rey

The small earthquake hit the Westside of Los Angeles Friday afternoon and was felt in Culver City.

A magnitude 2.7 earthquake struck just south of Marina del Rey Friday afternoon, rattling some local residents, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. 

The earthquake hit about one mile south of Marina del Rey at 4:17 p.m., the USGS reported. 

Just 30 minutes after the earthquake, multiple residents reported feeling the quake including residents in Culver City, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Venice and Santa Monica, according to the USGS Community Internet Intensity Map.
