Culver City Woman Vying for Title of 'Ms. Senior California'

Culver City resident Marcia Zadian will face up against 13 other contestants for the title.

A local Culver City woman will compete this week for the title of "Ms. Senior California" in the California Senior America Pageant in Westminster.

Marcia Zadian will square up against 13 other senior contestants, age 60 and over, in a competition that includes an interview, modeling evening gowns, a talent demonstration and philosophy of life statement.

The winner of the statewide California competition will advance to the national Ms. Senior America Pageant in Atlantic City in October.

According to organizers, the goal of the pageant is to encourage women over the age of 60 to "stay vital and connected with life" while also serving as role models to the younger generations.

The theme of this year's pageant is "The Best is Yet to Come" and will be held at the Rose Center Theater in Westminster, Calif. on Saturday, Aug. 31. Tickets can be purchased for $15.

According to organizers, this year's pageant will also be filmed by a film crew from Denmark TV for a segment entitled "Forever Young."
