It has been 10 years since the "new" senior citizens center opened in Culver City and that's cause to celebrate.
Light refreshments, music, dancing and a brief program will be featured at the Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Ave., on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The center serves as the hub of senior citizen events and activities in Culver City. The facility is open Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The Culver City Senior and Social Services Division is housed at the center, providing activities, classes and services to the elderly.
Armando Abrego, senior and social services manager, said in the latest center newsletter that the facility serves over 700 patrons who visit every day.
"How time flies when you are having FUN!" he said. "As we work toward the next 10 years, I will ask that we all continue to work together to be supportive, cooperative and united."
